I called the police because we were hearing strange noises coming from our sofa – our dog had alerted us: when the officers arrived, they discovered something horrifying 😱
I never would have believed that such an ordinary day could turn into a nightmare straight out of a horror movie.
That evening, my husband and I were quietly sitting in the living room. Our dog, Max, was nervously circling the sofa, growling and barking in an unusual way. At first, we thought it was just a whim or a reaction to an outside noise. But very quickly, his insistence started to worry us. 😱
Listening closely, I myself heard loud, muffled noises coming from inside the sofa. Scratching, as if something or someone was trying to get out. My heart started racing. Was it a trapped rodent? A wild animal that had entered the house? Just the thought gave me goosebumps. With Max’s growing agitation and our own rising worry, we finally decided to call the police.
A few minutes later, two officers knocked on our door. We explained the situation to them, almost embarrassed to bother them over what might have seemed like a simple whim.
Yet as they approached the sofa, they heard the same strange sounds we had. After a brief discussion between themselves, they decided to cut open the upholstery.
The silence became heavy and oppressive as the fabric tore under their knife. And then… the discovery 😱

When the sofa fabric was opened, the air in the room seemed to freeze.
The officers froze for a moment, then one of them gave a serious look to his colleague. Inside, trapped between the foam and the wooden frame, was… a skinny little kitten, trembling with fear.
I couldn’t believe my eyes. How could such a creature have ended up trapped in there?
The officer carefully took it out, and the poor animal immediately let out a faint but heart-wrenching meow.
Max, our dog, immediately calmed down and approached gently, as if checking that the kitten was okay.
We later learned that the sofa, bought second-hand a few days earlier, had probably been delivered with the animal already trapped inside. The seller knew nothing, and the kitten, likely terrified, had been unable to free itself.
