A CEO discovers a little girl alone in the snowstorm: “Mom said you are the only one who can help us.”
The snow was falling with such violence that night. Two days before Christmas, the city, usually impeccably organized, was paralyzed by a storm of rare intensity. The wind tore at faces, and the sidewalks were submerged under thick powder, making each step painful, while the snowflakes swirled, limiting visibility to just a few meters.
Marc Castel, head of Castel Technologies, rushed into his building, his cashmere coat tightly pressed against the biting cold. At 36, he was leading a digital empire that he had transformed into a giant company, controlling every aspect of his life like a well-solved equation.
However, this storm, he had not anticipated it. The ring road was blocked, the docks impassable. Pragmatic, he decided to walk—twenty minutes, nothing more, a little snow wouldn’t stop him. He knew this city like the back of his hand.
As he walked, he saw an indistinct shape on the steps of an old building. It was a little girl, no older than five, alone in the snow. Her candy-pink coat contrasted with the intensity of the blizzard. Her clear eyes, shining with tears, showed no fear, just a troubling intensity. She fixed Marc with a stare and asked in a soft voice: “Are you Mr. Marc Castel?”
“Mom showed me your picture. She said you were the only one who could help us.” 😱
Marc felt a chilling shiver. Who was this child, and what did she want from him? 😱😱😱

The little girl stared at him intensely, her eyes filled with sadness and determination. “Mom said you were the only one who could help us. She said we had to find you, or else… else it would be too late.”
Marc, though irritated by this enigmatic statement, felt unease growing inside him. He took her hand and led her inside the building, his mind racing. Who was this woman she was talking about? And why had she sent her into this storm to find him?
Inside, he rushed to the phone to call the police, but the little girl stopped his hand.
“You must not call the police.” she said calmly. “Mom is waiting for you at the hospital. She needs you.”
The words rang in Marc’s mind like a thunderclap. He knew immediately what he had to do. But the thought that a mother could send her daughter on such a trial unsettled him. He had no choice but to follow this fragile little figure, this child whose apparent innocence concealed a much heavier message.
He rushed into the street, the little girl still by his side, and set off toward the hospital. Each step seemed to take him closer to a mystery he could never have imagined.
