But his happiness vanished in an instant. Sitting on a metal bench outside the hospital, Valeria was shivering. She was wearing only a hospital gown, her bare feet rested on the freezing concrete, and she held her newborn baby against her, trying to protect him from the cold.
Panicked, Artur took off his coat to wrap her in it and asked where Mateo was. Without answering, Valeria handed him her phone. A message from her husband was displayed:

The next morning, Artur, accompanied by his lawyer and a bailiff, arrived at the house. The original documents were produced within minutes: the property indeed belonged exclusively to Valeria. The alleged transfer papers were fake. When the police arrived, the mother-in-law could not explain why she had changed the locks or on what basis she had thrown out a young mother with her newborn baby.
Mateo arrived urgently, convinced he would impress everyone. But when he saw the evidence, he understood that his lie was collapsing. The messages he had sent, the pictures of the bags abandoned on the sidewalk, and the testimonies from the maternity ward staff were enough to prove his behavior. His lawyer immediately advised him to remain silent.
Valeria got the keys to her house back that same day. However, she decided that Mateo would never set foot there again. She began divorce proceedings and requested primary custody of their child.
Before leaving, the mother-in-law whispered that she only wanted to protect her son. Artur looked at her calmly and replied: “You never protect someone by destroying a mother and her baby.”
