At the funeral, her husband Daniel desperately held my hand.

For two years, Daniel came to my house every Sunday with a coffee. He sat silently at my table, lost in his memories. He often asked me to tell him about moments from our childhood with Anna.

“My God… you are Anna’s portrait,” he whispered.
He gave me the box.
“Your sister entrusted this to me two days before her death. She asked me to give it to you only if Daniel married you.” 😱
Inside was Anna’s ring accompanied by a letter. The first sentence said:
“Sofia, do not trust Daniel under any circumstances.”
After reading those words, I remained motionless, devastated, as if I were in a nightmare. But it was real.😱

I sat down and continued reading the letter, my heart pounding.

He wanted to sell our parents’ house and use my inheritance to repay them. When I refused, he became cold and manipulative. I was never able to prove his lies, but I knew that after my death, he would try to get closer to you.”
Inside the box was also a USB drive. The lawyer asked me to watch it. On it, Daniel was seen admitting to a friend that he would do anything to get his hands on our family’s assets, even marry “the other sister” if necessary.
My world collapsed. The man I believed was broken by grief had carefully planned his future.
That same evening, I confronted him. When he saw the letter and the video, he remained speechless. He eventually admitted that he had manipulated me for financial reasons.
I requested the annulment of the marriage and handed over all the evidence to the appropriate authorities. Thanks to Anna’s courage, the truth finally came out.
